5-Day Classic Egypt Christmas Tour: Cairo, Luxor & Aswan

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by an Egypt Nile Travel representative who will help with arrival and visa procedures. Meet your Egyptologist guide outside the terminal to begin your 5-day Christmas tour covering Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. Your guide will explain the history, purpose, and mysteries behind these iconic monuments. After the tour, transfer to your hotel to relax and enjoy your first night in Egypt.

Today, your Christmas tour continues with a flight from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival, meet your local guide outside the terminal to begin your sightseeing. Start with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960s to control flooding and generate electricity. Continue by motorboat to the beautiful Temple of Philae, a remarkable Ptolemaic-era sanctuary relocated by UNESCO to protect it from rising waters. Your tour concludes at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk.

After sightseeing, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to your hotel in Aswan.

An early start marks one of the highlights of your 5-day Christmas tour as you travel south to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. After breakfast boxes, journey through the desert to explore the impressive rock temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, admiring their scale, carvings, and historical significance.

Return to Aswan for lunch at a local restaurant, then board a seated train to Luxor. Relax during the scenic ride along the Nile before arriving in Luxor and transferring to your hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your Luxor sightseeing with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, home to around 65 royal tombs. Your guide will recommend the best three tombs currently open to visitors. Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt independently for nearly 20 years, followed by a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, part of the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the vast Karnak Temple complex, the largest temple in Egypt, then visit the elegant Luxor Temple, connected to Karnak by the restored Avenue of Sphinxes. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad—Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Later, transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo and enjoy the final night of your 5-day Christmas tour with Egypt Nile Travel.
